Sister Willow

The above photo shows one of my recent paintings printed, cut out, and reassembled 3-d with brads. I painted the tree specifically to be used that way.

I’ve been really working on developing this sort of 3-D art through trial and error. I’m finding it a good way to express my magic and Pagan soul.

Though I am strongly a theist, the Tree of Life is the Goddess for me; the cosmos is Her embrace.

If you prefer to read a print version of my prayer instead of my above calligraphy of it:

Sister Willow Tree

Sister Willow Tree,
You let down Your hair.
Not like Rapunzel trapped in a tower,
You live in power,
leafy boughs curved
till they reach the ground
to shelter all creatures, myself included.
Teach me to bow low in power,
that I too may serve.

I LOVE your 3-D Goddess tree painting, Francesca. It is indeed a “happy place” and one that I hope and pray we all may eventually live in and appreciate. You always amaze :-)

Donna, thank you so much for your comment! I never can tell if one of my paintings is going to have any meaning for anyone but myself, so your positive feedback is greatly appreciated. And I’m so happy you see meaning I had hoped to convey in that picture.
